KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda have held a meeting on Thursday morning.

According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.

Prime Minister Deuba and Maoist Center Chairman Prachanda dwelled on the cabint expansion and other appointments. Prime Minister Deuba left for Singha Durbar following the meeting, said PM Secretariat.

Even though it was said that a meeting of the ruling coalition would be held in the morning today, only Deuba and Prachanda met.

A meeting of the ruling coalition on Wednesday decided to expand the cabinet as soon as possible and bring a minimum common program of the government.

In the meeting, Rastriya Janamorcha and CPN-UML’s Madhav Kumar Nepal stated that they would not participate in the government.

NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, who was appointed the prime minister on July 13, has not been able to expand the cabinet yet.

Currently, the government has only two ministers each from the Congress and the Maoist Center and one state minister. Now, the Prime Minister is preparing to expand the Council of Ministers.
