Let’s increase farmer’s morale, respect labor: Province Chief Kalauni

KARNALI: Karnali Province Chief Govinda Prasad Kalauni has said that a culture of respecting labor by increasing the morale of farmers should be developed.

Extending the best wishes among all Nepali farmer brothers and sisters including Karnali folks on the occasion of ‘18th National Paddy Day-2078’ and ‘Paddy Plantation Festival’ observing across the nation today, Province Chief Kalauni stressed the need for high respect of agriculture, farmers, and labor to make the country self-dependent on paddy production.

In a best wishes message, he shared, “The government of Nepal has been celebrating Asar 15 as the National Paddy Day across the nation with an objective of respecting labor of farmers making their morale high.

People celebrate this day by throwing mud at each other and eating curd and beaten rice as well as singing a folksong. Such activities have made mutual harmony, and social unity strong.”

The slogan of this year’s National Paddy Day is “Growth in paddy production: Food security, self-reliance, and prosperity.”

Kalauni opined that it would help in building a self-dependent Nepal in agriculture if youths could be attracted towards commercial farming, expressing the belief that it would help fulfill the national campaign, ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’.
