Budget 2021/22: Salary of teachers in contract and relief quota increased to Rs. 15,000



KATHMANDU: The government has revised the salary of the school teachers working on contract basis or on relief quota and made the minimum salary Rs. 15,000.

Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel made the announcement while presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2021/22.

He said that the federal government will provide Rs 8,000 for the salary and the remaining amount will be borne by the local level. Similarly, the government will provide lunch to 3.5 million students to minimize dropout rates in schools.

He also said that internet will be provided in all the community schools within two years.

Similarly, the educational channels will be run through educational portals and Nepal Television for the students who are not able to go to school.

Minister Poudel added that a health worker would be provided to all schools.

Likewise, the compulsory examination of the student’s eyes, nose, ears and throat would be arranged at the beginning of the academic session.
