4 JSP leaders removed from PA in Lumbini Province

KATHMANDU: Four provincial lawmakers elected from Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) have lost their seats in Lumbini Province Assembly (PA) and have been expelled from the party.

Their dismissal was made public through a notice issued by Lumbini PA on Thursday.

The relieved lawmakers are Bijay Yadav, Santosh Pandey, Suman Rayamajhi and Kalpana Pandey. All of them are currently Ministers in Lumbini Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel’s cabinet.

They were part of a signature campaign initiated by Nepali Congress, Maoist Center and the JSP to file a no-confidence motion against CM Pokharel on April 19. But, within hours, the four changed camp and were sworn in as Ministers.

JSP parliamentary party (PP) wrote to the Lumbini PA office with the decision made by JSP office-bearers’ meeting to relieve them from their PA seat and party membership Thursday.
