KATHMANDU: Former Queen Komal Shah, who is undergoing treatment for coronavirus infection, has been shifted to the ICU ward of the Thapathali-based Norvic International Hospital.

A hospital source said that she was shifted to ICU last night after the oxygen level dropped.

Former King Gyanendra and Queen Komal were admitted to the Norvic Hospital four days ago after being diagnosed with coronavirus infection after returning from Delhi.

Former princess Prerna was also admitted to the same hospital due to the coronavirus infection.

At present, the health of former King Gyanendra and daughter Prerna is stable, hospital sources said.

However, the former king is also on oxygen support. “Former Queen has been shifted to the ICU to increase the level of oxygen,” the source said. “Her oxygen level is now around 87.”

Oxygen levels of 94 to 100 are generally considered healthy. If the oxygen level of the coronavirus is constantly falling below 90, it is considered critical.
