UML leader Nepal, Prachanda meet over in Koteshwor

KATHMANDU: The meeting between CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has concluded in Koteshwor, Kathmandu, on Monday afternoon.

According to sources, leaders Bhim Rawal and Narayan Kaji Shrestha also were present during the meeting that took place at the residence of industrialist Tapindra Timsina in Koteshwor.

The two sides discussed current political developments and future strategy to unite communist forces at the meeting.

The two leaders had formed a united front against Prime Minister KP Oli after the UML and Maoist Center merged to form the Nepal Communist Party (NCP). However, Supreme Court’s March 7 decision forced both to part ways as the UML and Maoist Center were revived.

They hold one-to-one meetings from time to time to strategize the unification of communist forces and to criticize Oli-attitude.
