SC orders retrieval of original copy of Cabinet decisions on Lalita Niwas land scam

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the retrieval of original documents of the Cabinet decisions taken during the governments led by Madhav Kumar Nepal and Babu Ram Bhattarai on the Lalita Niwas land grab case Monday.

It has ordered to retrieve original copies of four different decisions made by the governments led by Nepal and Bhattarai at the time.

A joint bench of Justices Anil Kumar Sinha and Hari Prasad Phuyal gave an order to this effect after hearing arguments of both petitioner and defendant.

The SC has started hearing the case filed against former Prime Minister duo Nepal and Bhattarai on the Lalita Niwas land grab case today.

The SC had on February 14 issued an order to provide evidence to decide whether it needs prosecution or not.

Senior Advocate Bal Krishna Neupane had filed a writ petition on February 12, 2020 saying that a supplementary indictment should be filed against the people involved in the Lalita Niwas land grab case.
