SC should heed public voice: Khanal

BIRATNAGAR: Senior leader of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal Jhalanath Khanal believed that the Election Commission of Nepal would take decisions acknowledging the two-thirds majority of the Dahal-Nepal group in the NCP’s central committee and Standing Committee.

The former Prime Minister viewed that the public voice should be heeded by the apex court and Election Commission of Nepal.

Speaking at a protest assembly in Biratnagar against House dissolution, he opined that the constitution had not granted authority to the Prime Minister to dissolve the parliament.

Also speaking in the event, the party’s central committee member Yogesh Bhattarai, Shiva Kumar Mandal, and Bhim Acharya univocally argued that PM Oli’s stubbornness had sabotaged the majority that would sustain the government for five years and led to the dissolution of the House of Representatives.
