KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the government was implementing a campaign of materializing ‘prosperous Nepal-happy Nepali’ ambition by strengthening the democratic system achieved on the basis of martyrs’ sacrifice.

Giving a message today on the occasion of the Martyrs’ Day-2077, PM Oli said for the realization of the national ambition, a stable politics is imperative so unity among all could frustrate the efforts made against aspiration of development and prosperity in the country.

“We move ahead for good governance and development with the protection and practical implementation of federal democratic republic and Constitution and social awareness and advancement. It is the guiding principles of the sacrifice the martyrs made,” he reminded.

A long struggle for rights has been over with the institutionalization of a system where democratic rights, rule of law, justice, and equality are ensured, he said, adding that country was moving ahead for implementation of a robust democracy, a strong economy, good governance, and social justice.

He further asserted, “The essence of the martyrs’ dream is country’s prosperity and people’s happiness. For the materialization of a dream of martyrs, we launched a nationwide campaign in the past years.”

The PM argued, as compared to the past, much progress was made in the front of physical infrastructures, social security, and management of settlement to the people surviving a disaster. The long-term plan brings a change in people’s lives.

Prime Minister Oli wished Martyrs Day inspired everyone to become active for the country’s welfare.

In 1997 BS, Sukraj Sashtri, Dasharath Chand, Dharmabhakta Mathema and Ganga Lal Shrestha had got martyrdom while fighting against the autocratic Rana regime. In 2007, the 104-year-old Rana regime collapsed and Nepal got democracy.
