KATHMANDU: Two communist parties CPN-Unified Socialist (CPN-US) and the CPN-Janabadi have merged amidst a program held in Kathmandu Tuesday.
While the CPN-US was recently formed after splitting from the CPN-UML, Janabadi Party was also registered after parting with the Maoists.
The unity declaration was done at the City Hall in Exhibition Road, Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu.
On the occasion, CPN-US Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal and other leaders welcomed Janabadi leaders into the party. The event was also attended by CPN-US leader and Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Rajendra Pandey.
The CPN-Janabadi was helmed by Devendra Singh Mahata.
