Madhyapaschim University Vice Chancellor bats for experts in govt

KARNALI: Vice Chancellor of the Madhyapaschim University Prof Dr Nanda Bahadur Singh has said not the lawmakers but the people with special expertise could be made ministers.

At a press conference organized in Surkhet on Monday, Vice Chancellor Singh asserted that out of 11 universities, the Madhyapaschim University had appointed experts with PhD in the account and finance departments.

“However, it is unfortunate that even the contractors become minister in Nepal,” he expressed worry, pointing out the need of clean politics and good governance. He urged the political parties and the Prime Minister to stop making lawmakers the ministers. Relevant subject experts must be made the ministers, he suggested.

According to him, only best and experts could deliver well to the country.

On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Singh also shared information about the activities done and expenses made by the 11th Senate of the Madhapaschim University.
