NC to hold convention in remaining 16 districts on Jan 11

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) is holding district conventions in the remaining districts on January 11.

A meeting of the Central Election Committee held on Monday decided to hold the convention in the remaining 16 districts on the same day.

“NC has decided to hold the convention in all the remaining districts on January 11,” Secretary of the Election Committee Keshav Rijal said.

District conventions are yet to be held in Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Sindhuli, Makwanpur, Sindhupalchowk, Chitwan, Banke, Kailali, Achham and Nawalpur districts.

Although the lower-level convention should have been held before the General Convention, the convention of 16 districts as well as Province No. 2 had been postponed due to internal disputes in the party.

The convention of Province 2 was held only a few days ago following the vote-count results of the Central Working Committee of the party.
