UML publishes voters’ list; voting to be held for contested posts Monday

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has published a voters’ list to complete the election process of the party’s 10th general convention and voting is to be held for contested posts from 9 am to 4 pm Monday.

According to the UML Election Commission, the names of elected and nominated delegates for the party’s 10th General Convention were published for voters and pasted at the site of the closed session that will be attended by UML General Convention delegates. Delegates are also the voters in the convention.

The voters’ list has been published so that those who have been nominated unanimously can contest the election if they express disagreement with the nominations, said the UML Election Commission.

The process of publishing the voters’ list and nomination of candidates makes the election process in the General Convention legal.

It has been decided to publish the voters’ list by 11 pm and distribute the application forms for candidates until 11:30 pm and the list of candidates is to be published by 1 pm.

Chief of the UML Central Election Commission Dr. Bijay Subba said that the election program of the 10th General Convention began from 11 pm on Sunday.

In the case where the consensus seems hard among nominated members, voting will be held from 9 am to 4 pm on Monday.
