High Court issues interim order not to implement Foreign Ministry’s letter in relation to NRNA election

KATHMANDU: The Patan High Court has issued an interim order not to implement the letter of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the election of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).

Responding to a complaint lodged in the Patan High Court against the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for unfairly dismissing Non-Resident Nepali Association’s (NRNA) working committee and giving the responsibility to the Advisory Committee to hold the election.

NRNA President Kumar Pant said that the Patan High Court had issued an interim order not to implement the letter of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the election of NRNA.

The establishment of the organization had been accusing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of interfering against the Non-Resident Nepali Association for the benefit of certain people.

NRNA has set December 15 as the election date.

Vice President Badri KC, Vice President Rabina Thapa and Advisor Kul Acharya have formed separate panels and are engaged in campaigning for election.

Union spokesperson DB Chhetri said that the Patan High Court’s interim order has made room for the organization to follow its calendar as scheduled before.
