JANAKPURDHAM: Police have arrested an individual on the charge of printing fake Nepali and Indian currencies in Mahottari.

The arrested has been identified as 44-year-old Sakun Mahato of Gaushala municipality-9, currently staying in a rented room in Mahabir Das’ house based in the municipality.

Acting on a tip-off, a police squad deployed from District Police Office, Mahottari arrested Mahato along with a printing machine and 882,420 fake Nepali and 277,970 Indian currencies, said DSP Prakash Bista, the spokesperson of DPO, Mahottari.

Police said they are investigating the after taking Mahato into custody.
