Govt recommends to prorogue current session of parliament



KATHMANDU: The government has recommended to the President to end the current session of the Federal Parliament from midnight Thursday.

Education Minister Devendra Poudel said the cabinet meeting held Thursday recommended proroguing the parliament session.

The ninth session of the parliament that began from September 8 could not run smoothly due to the obstruction from the main opposition CPN-UML. Earlier today, the HoR had been adjourned till November 15.

Meanwhile, the cabinet meeting also recommended appointing Shankar Sharma as the Ambassador to India, Gyan Chandra Acharya to the United Kingdom, and Shridhar Khatri to the United States.
