Govt recommends ambassadors to India, UK and US

KATHMANDU: The government has recommended the appointment of ambassadors of the three countries on Thursday.

A cabinet meeting held today recommended Shankar Sharma as the Ambassador to India, Gyan Chandra Acharya to the United Kingdom, and Shridhar Khatri to the United States.

Khatri, a professor of political science, is a foreign affairs expert, while Sharma is a former US ambassador.

PM Deuba is leaving for the United Kingdom on Friday leading a Nepali delegation to attend the World Leaders’ Summit of the 26th Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 26) to be held from November 1 to 2.
