SC hearings postponed to mourn the death of former judge

KATHMANDU: All hearings of the Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday have been postponed due to the death of former Justice Bhairav Prasad Lamsal.

The hearing has been adjourned by issuing a condolence motion on Lamsal’s death.

Earlier, Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana had scheduled cases for hearing even today.

As many as 14 SC justices — meanwhile, who have been boycotting the hearings – have been demanding CJ’s resignation.

All the Supreme Court Justices have concluded that Rana should step down on the moral ground.

Rana has been dragged into controversy after he allegedly demanded a share in ministerial portfolios and constitutional bodies.
