Heavy rainfall predicted from Wednesday onward

KATHMANDU: Heavy rainfall is predicted in the eastern and central parts of the country from coming Wednesday making monsoon more active thereafter.

According to senior meteorologist Min Kumar Aryal, the monsoon that entered Nepali on July 11 was not so active until today but the monsoon will begin to rage from coming Wednesday onward.

Monsoon clouds are predicted to cause heavy rainfall in Province No 1, Province No 2, and a majority of parts in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces shared Aryal.

Monsoon-induced disasters such as landslides, floods, and inundations are likely due to heavy rainfall. Hence the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has called for precaution against possible disasters in vulnerable areas.

Currently, the country experiences general cloudy weather to complete one. Light rainfall is being witnessed in few parts of Province No 1 and Gandaki Province, the Department said. RSS
