Agitating students and staffs start relay strike BPKIHS Dharan



DHARAN: Agitating employees and students of BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan have taken to relay strike seeking reform and transparency in the institute.

As a means of mounting pressure on the corruption alleged vice chancellor and other high officials, the medical, dental, nursing, non-medical faculty, staff, residential doctors and students of the institute have started a relay hunger strike from Monday.

According to sources, Dr. Bishnu Pokhrel, Dr. Padam Nepali, Dr. Amrit Jaishi, Jyoti Vigat and Subash Banjade are on hunger strike at the BPKIHS premises.

The agitation for the reform of the academy had started from June 15.

Doctors, staff and students of the institute have been protesting and holding rallies saying that they were asked for an explanation for protesting against the irregularities and demanding transparency in the institute.

They have formed a joint struggle committee to protest against the high officials involved in corruption.
