 ‘Rhino poacher’ Rajman sent to jail



CHITWAN: Rajman Magar, who has been convicted of poaching four rhinos in National Chitwan Park, has been sent to jail.

Magar,30, who originally hails from Gaindakot municipality-3, Nawalparasi East, was imprisoned on Sunday after being convicted of the death of four rhinos due to poaching in the CNP in fiscal year 2020/21, informed Lokendra Adhikari, the information officer of the CNP.

He had been absconding after being accused of poaching four rhinos.

Magar, who was produced to the District Court, Nawalpur by local conservationists, has been sent to prison as per the court’s order.

Adhikari said legal action has been taken against 27 persons including Magar this year on the charge of rhino poaching.
