Kathmandu valley sees 2,324 fresh cases of coronavirus in 24 hours

KATHMANDU: As many as 2,324 persons have been infected with COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry, 1,796 persons in Kathmandu, 315 in Lalitpur, and 213 in Bhaktapur have been tested positive for the pandemic virus, as of Friday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Nepal recorded a total of 6,951 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours. This has taken the total number of infection cases from the COVID-19 to 549,111.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 6,855 persons have tested positive for COVID-19 through the RT-PCR method while 96 have been tested positive through the Antigen method.

Meanwhile, 9,841 persons returned home after complete health recovery from COVID-19. With this the number of people recovered from the pandemic reached 428,670 till date. The recovery rate has become 78.1 percent on Friday.

According to the Ministry, 96 people have succumbed to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 related death toll to 7047.
