KAILALI: A woman has been torched while asleep in bed in Doti at midnight on Thursday.

According to District Police Office, Doti, Laxmi Bhat, 28, of Adarsha-4, Rodinge village in Adarsh ​​was set on fire by an unidentified person while she was sleeping in her shop.

Bhat, critically injured in the blaze, is undergoing treatment at Sujang Hospital in Rajpur.

“Whether the flammable substance is petrol or kerosene, it has not been identified.” We have come close to investigating the incident. Individuals or groups involved in such criminal activities will be arrested and brought to justice,” Dan Bahadur Malla, Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Doti said.

According to Hospital sources, the health condition of the injured is critical. She has sustained injuries on both legs, face, abdomen and right arm, hospital sources said.

Although the hospital has referred her to a better facility, the relatives have not been able to take the woman to other hospitals due to poverty.
