KATHMANDU: The government has opened regular flights from Nepal to four countries including India and China.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation sources, the country will have scheduled flights to Qatar and Turkey, along with two neighboring countries, India and China.

“Regular flights will be opened to China, Qatar and Turkey from June 1,” Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Bhanubhakta Dhakal said informing about the decision of the Council of Minister’s meeting held on Thursday, adding, “The cabinet meeting decided to open flights in countries where there is more pressure on passengers.”

There have been two flights a week to India these days.

However, people arriving from or at these destinations must show a PCR negative report. Passengers who have completed the vaccination will be allowed to stay in home isolation.

Other passengers have to join the hotel quarantine mandatorily.

Both domestic and international flights have been suspended in Nepal for more than a month amid  ban on controlling the corona virus epidemic. However, chartered flights are taking place despite the restrictions on the regular flights.

Istanbul will now be an easy destination to return home for citizens of European and American countries who have come to Nepal for mountaineering.
