“Missing” Gandaki Assembly member “found” in COVID ward’s ICU

Shahi’s PCR report is negative



POKHARA: In a dramatic turn of events, Rastriya Janamorcha state assembly member Khem Bikram Shahi, who was said to be out of contact Wednesday, has been found in an ICU of COVID-19 Hospital.

Interestingly, his coronavirus test report is negative.

Lawmaker Shahi was found in the ICU of the COVID-19 Ward of Charak Hospital in Pokhara.

Likewise, Nepali Congress state assembly member Man Kumari Gurung was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday morning, according to Kapil Pokhrel, director of the hospital.

Shahi’s report has come negative in the PCR test conducted by the Provincial Assembly Secretariat.

However, Pokhrel said that he was admitted to the hospital after showing a positive report. “As many as 42 patients admitted to the hospital are coronavirus patients,” he said.

Meanwhile, earlier today, a meeting of the Gandaki Provincial Assembly was postponed indefinitely.

The meeting was adjourned saying that lawmaker Shahi, a lawmaker of Rastriya Janamorcha Nepal was out of contact during the no-confidence vote against Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung.

However, the meeting was adjourned indefinitely after a petition was filed in the assembly saying that the Jana Morcha MP had gone out of contact.
