Janamorcha lawmaker abstains from Gandaki PA assembly’s crucial meeting



POKHARA:  A decisive Rastriya Janamorcha lawmaker Khim Bikram Shahi has been absent in Gandaki Province Assembly (PA)’s crucial meeting called to discuss and vote on a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung.

According to sources, lawmaker Shahi’s mobile phone is switched off and he is not in contact with any lawmakers.

Shahi’s party, Rastriya Janamorcha Nepal, has decided to vote for the motion against the Chief Minister Gurung.

However, Piari Thapa and Krishna Thapa, two MPs out of three lawmakers of the party are present in today’s meeting.

If the voting occurs and lawmaker Shahi does not join the PA within the stipulated time, the no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Gurung is likely to fail.
