Bagmati CM Poudel calls state’s UML PP meeting for Wednesday

KATHMANDU: Bagmati State Chief Minister and parliamentary party (PP) leader of CPN-UML in the state Dormani Poudel has called a meeting of the state’s UML PP for Wednesday.

The meeting will discuss a no-confidence motion filed against CM Poudel at the Provincial Assembly earlier, informed UML Bagmati Chief whip Keshab Pandey.

Discussion on the no-confidence motion has not taken place at the State Assembly.

Lawmakers close to the erstwhile Madhav Kumar Nepal and Pushpa Kamal Dahal faction of then Nepal Communist Party (NCP) had filed the no-confidence motion against Poudel.

CM Poudel garners majority support in Bagmati State Assembly following the Supreme Court decision to nullify the merger of UML and CPN (Maoist Center).

The Bagmati State Assembly is composed of 110 members, of which 58 belong to the UML.
