KATHMANDU: The World Hindu Federation (WHF) is to set up an International Cooperation Fund for the preservation of the Vedic culture and religion. The monetary support for the Fund would be mobilized in coordination with the WHF’s international chapters and the followers of the Hindu religion and culture as well as the related organizations around the world.
WHF Acting President Asmita Bhandari said the amount collected in the Fund would be used for the protection of Hindu cultural heritages as well as religious places carrying rich history. She added that the amount of the Fund would also be utilized for conducting various campaigns for the promotion of education. The Fund will accept donations and support only from Hindus and Hindu organizations and institutions.
The WHF Acting president shared that they have also prepared an action plan for the development of the Vedic culture and civilization. It has adopted the policy of rooting out harmful practices and superstitious beliefs existing in society while playing a leading role to declare Nepal a Hindu nation.
According to Bhandari, WHF will play the role of fostering a broader unity for the respect, protection and promotion of the entire Omkar family, including the Vedic, Buddhist, Jain, Shikh and Kirant followers, for keeping the national unity intact.
WHF plans to activate its international organizations against what it called the increasing religious conversions and domination over the followers of the Sanatan dharma. The WHF has its presence in 14 countries.
WHF concluded its 10th general assembly in Kathmandu Sunday.
