Maoist Gen Convention: Closed session commencing today



KATHMANDU: The closed session of the CPN-Maoist Center’s Eighth General Convention is set to start at 11 am Monday.

The inaugural session of the convention concluded on Sunday evening.

Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ inaugurated the convention at Nepal Academy Hall in Kathmandu Sunday afternoon.

During today’s closed-door session, Prachanda is scheduled to present his political document.

Top political leaders, including Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, among others, attended the inaugural session of the Maoist Convention.

Maoist leaders said that the peace process would be reviewed during the five-day gathering and that new ideas would be discussed to turn the party into a revolutionary one.
