Turkey to open resident embassy in Kathmandu in 2022 to mark 60 years of Nepal-Turkey ties



KATHMANDU: Turkey is set to establish its resident embassy in Nepal next year.

Ambassador of Turkey to Nepal Firat Sunel shared information in this regard with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Friday.

The announcement comes as Turkey and Nepal are set to mark 60 years of bilateral relations in 2022.

Turkey also urged Nepal to open its resident embassy in the Turkish capital Ankara.

Ambassador Sunel was of the view that the opening of embassies in each other’s countries would help further strengthen bilateral ties.
