UML 10th Gen Convention: Closed session begins from today



KATHMANDU: The closed session of the 10th General Convention of the CPN-UML is starting from today.

The closed session will begin at Hotel Seven Star in Sauraha, Chitwan today, informed UML publicity chief Yogesh Bhattarai.

The closed session is also expected to dwell on the statute amendment after UML Statute Convention held earlier decided to increase the number of office-bearers from 13 to 15.

Similarly, the election committee has set 6 pm today for registration of candidatures, protest of claims and withdrawal.

The final list of candidates will be published after 6 pm and the voting will start on Sunday.

Even though preparations are underway to field KP Sharma Oli as a unanimous chairman of the UML, Vice Chairman Bhim Rawal has also announced his candidature for the same.

Organizing a press meet on Friday night, Rawal had said he would not withdraw his candidacy.
