CJ Rana issues orders in five cases

Out of 11 benches at SC, Rana executes hearing in his bench

KATHMANDU: Chief Justice (CJ) Cholendra Shumsher Rana has issued orders in five cases through his bench on Wednesday.

Amid the confusion on court and the majority Supreme Court judges boycotting the benches assigned by CJ Rana, his own bench has carried out hearing and has issued order in five cases.

Among the 11 benches that he constituted Wednesday morning, CJ Rana issued the order in five cases through his single bench.

Other SC judges, however, did not turn up for the hearing.

It should be noted that the Constitutional Bench headed by CJ Rana could not sit for hearing as other justices remained in internal discussion to chart out their future strategy.
