Political instability due to flawed constitution: DSP Chair Thakur

KATHMANDU: Chairman of Democratic Socialist Party (DSP) Mahantha Thakur has said political instability existed in the country due to flawed provisions in the constitution.

Thakur said so at a program organized by women leaders of the party in Janakpur Monday. He added he had drawn the attention of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to solve the problems of Madhes amidst volatile political situation in the country.

Stating that even the rights that were enshrined in the interim constitution had been curtailed in the present constitution, Chair Thakur stressed the need to amend the constitution. “Our party has been continuously voicing issues of constitution amendment, withdrawal of false charges leveled against participants of the Madhes movement, need to resolve the citizenship issue and inclusiveness,” he added.
