Head Coach of national cricket team Dave Whatmore announces resignation



KATHMANDU: Head Coach of the Nepali national cricket team Dave Whatmore has announced his resignation on Friday.

He wrote a resignation letter to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) while the national team is on a tour of Oman for the ICC World Cup League 2.

Whatmore would immediately resign after the conclusion of the world cup qualifier place on 19th September to be held in Oman, his letter stated.

“I also wish to confirm you that this is a very tough decision I have to make after making the deepest of my thoughts on the same… Due to the ongoing pandemic, it is very difficult for me to stay away from my family for such a long tim… this is entirely my personal decision and I truly enjoyed working with CAN & its players who are extremely cooperative with me throughout the entire tenure.”

The head coach of the national team was selected through open competition on December 17, 2020, for a period of one year.
