NC general convention: Election officers mobilized in 38 districts



KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has mobilized election officers in 38 districts for the forthcoming 14th General Convention of the party.

Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba had signed and handed over the name list of active members of the party from 38 districts to the central election committee on Thursday. Election committee Coordinator Mahadev Yadav informed that the election officers were the lawyers from the Democratic Lawyers’ Association (DLA), a sister wing of the party.

The district election officer would involve in the election to be held at the ward, village, municipal and district levels from September 3. The district election officer would coordinate with the district presidents of the party, sister organizations and teachers’ associations. He would appoint election officers.

The election officer for the provincial election would be appointed later.

It is said the name list of the remaining active members from other districts would be submitted by coming Sunday.
