11 Nepalis arrive in New Delhi; 42 still stranded in Kabul



KATHMANDU: Eleven Nepali people have arrived in New Delhi from Kabul. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they were rescued and brought to New Delhi from the Afghan capital, Kabul on Thursday.

The ministry said 42 Nepalis are still stranded in various parts of Kabul. Those waiting for rescue were picked up from various places and placed near Kabul airport, according to the ministry.

The ministry said due to the huge crowd gathering outside the airport, it was difficult for them to board the plane and efforts were underway to this end. Nepal alone cannot rescue Nepalis from Afghanistan. The US, UK, India and other countries have been rescuing Nepalis from Afghanistan.

The foreign ministry says that it is coordinating and facilitating to bring Nepalis from Doha, Dubai, London and New Delhi to Kathmandu after being rescued from Afghanistan.

The ministry has requested Nepali people stranded in Afghanistan to register their details on the online portal of the Department of Consular Services abroad.
