KATHMANDU: Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) is holding a Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting on Tuesday.

The meeting will be held at the Central Party Office in Balkumari at 2 pm, said central member Pradeep Yadav.

The meeting is taking place for the first time after the Election Commission (EC) granted authenticity to the Yadav-Bhattarai faction of the party.

The leaders of the Thakur-Mahato faction have also been invited to the meeting. Meanwhile, the Thakur-Mahato faction is currently holding a meeting on whether to attend the meeting and move ahead in union or to part ways to form a new party.

After obtaining the authenticity from the EC, the Yadav-Bhattarai faction has said that it will give space to the Thakur-Mahato faction if it admits mistakes and is ready to join the party.

The meeting will also decide on whether to join the Deuba cabinet or not and endorse the draft of the party statute prepared by the Parliamentary Party, said a JSP leader.
