BJP eager to develop ties with Nepali political parties: Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale

KATHMANDU: India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale, who is also In-charge of the Foreign Affairs Department of BJP, said he was eager to expand ties with the political parties in Nepal after the coronavirus situation would subside.

Addressing a virtual session of NIICE Global Conclave organized by the Nepal Institute for International Cooperation and Engagement (NIICE) Sunday, Dr. Chauthaiwale said the process to deepen ties with Nepali political parties had begun during his last visit to Nepal and the coronavirus pandemic had impeded the process. He added the exchanges would continue after the end of the pandemic.

“The exchanges between political parties of the two countries greatly strengthen bilateral relations, help to understand each other better, and provide opportunity to sort out misunderstandings.” He also said that Nepal would not find any other good leaders except Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Dr. Chauthaiwale also noted some political parties make anti-India statements after arriving Nepal by wounding up their India visit. He said the BJP, being the largest political party of India, wanted to cultivate relations with all political parties in Nepal.
