Biplav expedites meeting with other party leaders on holding a referendum

KATHMANDU: Netra Bikram Chand “Biplav”, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal has expedited talks with leaders of various political parties to establish his agenda of going for a referendum on key issues.

Biplab, who joined mainstream politics after signing an agreement with Prime Minister KP Oli, has held talks with CPN-Maoist CenterChairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” and Janata Samajwadi Party Federal Council Chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai.

Party leaders, including Dharmendra Bastola and Uday Bahadur Chalaune, held talks with Dr. Bhattarai at his residence on holding a referendum on some key issues.

According to a source privy to Biplav, during the meeting, Prachanda said it was high time they fought against “PM KP Oli’s regressive steps” rather than going for a referendum.
