KATHMANDU: Italy has booked its place in the quarter-finals of Euro 2021, reaching the final eight for the fourth consecutive European Championship with a 2-1 win over Austria.
Matteo Pessina was to be the winner after his fellow substitute Federico Chiesa opened the scoring in the extra time, as Austria fought hard to keep the Azzurri out.
The first half was Italy’s. However, they failed to make their dominance count as Austria stood firm at the back.
But the half’s attempt came from Ciro who seemingly frustrated with a lack of space in behind the Austrian backline.
