PM Oli claims Rs 50,000 paid for each oxygen cylinder bought from China

The actual price of oxygen cylinder is Rs 300-400



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has inadvertently revealed that the government was paying Rs 50,000 for each oxygen cylinder while procuring them from China, knowing that the per cylinder price is generally Rs. 300/400

The PM revealed that the government was paying 125 times more than the actual price of each cylinder. He also said it was doing so to save lives of people because of its respect for human lives.

While addressing the 22nd establishment day of the National Human Rights Council, virtually, PM Oli argued that the government was continuously effortful to control the pandemic and save the people. He added that the government’s efforts alone made it possible to vaccinate the people despite the fact that Nepal has not produced vaccines of COVID-19.

He added that the government was always alert to create a free and fearless environment for NHRC in the areas of safeguarding human rights. He said that the government was respecting the NHRC recommendations and they were implemented.

PM Oli said the government was paying attention to control the organized crimes and ensure social justice and dignified life for the citizens.

On this occasion, the NHRC chair Tapa Bahadur Magar opined that the government should effectively implement the NHRC report.
