Norvic puts ex-royals on oxygen support as precautionary measure



KATHMANDU: Former royals Gyanendra and Komal Shah have been undergoing COVID-19 treatment with oxygen support at Norvic International Hospital in Thapathali Tuesday.

Oxygen support is being given to the former royals as a precautionary measure, according to the hospital. Respiratory problem among COVID-19-infected in recent days has been witnessed to worsen very quickly.

The hospital gave oxygen to prevent the former royals from developing further complications.

Meanwhile, former princess Prerena Shah, who is also admitted to the hospital, is not on oxygen support.

All the three former royals were admitted to the hospital on April 24 after former King and Queen returned from India on April 18.

The Shahs had left for India on April 8 at the invitation of the Maha Kumbh Mela 2021 Special Committee Haridwar, India.

The royals had taken the ‘Royal bath’ on April 12 and had entertained meetings with various political and religious leaders during their stay at Haridwar.
