Will withdraw support to the govt soon: Prachanda

KATHMANDU: The Chairman of Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that he will withdraw his support to the CPN-UML led government in a few days.

Speaking at an interaction organized by Civil Society in Kathmandu on Saturday, Prachanda said that there would be no delay on his part to withdraw support to the KP Oli-led government after a few days.

Stating that there was a lot of pressure not to withdraw support, he said that now he could not wait for many days both politically and morally.

“I am under pressure not to withdraw my support. They are saying that if the support is withdrawn, there will be more chaos,”  Prachanda said, adding, “but I am under pressure politically and morally and I can’t wait any longer. ‘

He remarked that there is a plan to move ahead by consensus among political parties as far as possible.

Prachanda also alleged that the Prime Minister is planning to reverse the achievement made through the past movements including, mass movement of 2006/07.

He confessed his slackness in taking action against the government and added that he had thought the PM would resign on moral ground.

“We had thought that the Prime Minister would resign after the reinstatement of the parliament,” Prachanda said ahead, adding, “ We simply relaxed to win this battle; we were slow to come out with second plan.”

He assured that he would wait no more.
