Air passengers stranded at TIA

KATHMANDU: Over two dozen flights have been canceled at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Nepal’s only international airport, due to high air pollution and poor visibility Saturday.

Flights to destinations across the country could not take off and passengers are stranded at the airport.

Only two flights have flown to their destinations as of now. One plane of Shree Airlines left the airport for Dhangadhi and another of Buddha Air to Rajbiraj.

If there were improvement in weather condition, some flights would fly to their destination in the evening, according to TIA.
