UML Nepal-Khanal faction’s CC meet resumes in Kalanki

KATHMANDU: The Central Committee (CC) meet of the CPN-UML’s Nepal-Khanal faction which started at Mega Party Palace, Lampati, Kalanki yesterday has resumed again.

According to UML sources, the Nepal-Khanal’s meeting is discussing about the prospective steps Prime Minister and party Chair KP Oli is likely to take against the disgruntled leaders including Senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and Bhim Rawal.

Yesterday’s meeting had decided to join the parliamentary party meeting called by PM Oli.

Accordingly, former Prime Minister and leader Jhala Nath Khanal, Ghana Shyam Bhusal, Yogesh Bhattarai and many others of the disgruntled faction had attended the meeting called by party Chair Oli.

The leaders of Nepal-Khanal faction had urged the party leadership to revoke all decisions taken on and after March 12 and revive the party committees as of May 16, 2018. However, PM Oli not only defied their proposal and stuck to his former decisions, but also hinted that disciplinary action could be taken against Senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and Bhim Rawal.

Today’s meeting is expected to make strategies to counter PM Oli’s aggressive policy of crushing the dissenting voices in the party.

The meeting is attended UML’s disgruntled leaders including Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal, Surendra Pandey, Raghuji Pant, Gokarna Bista, Ghanshyam Bhusal, Amrit Kumar Bohora, Madhav Poudel and 32 others.

As it is a holiday, more leaders are expected to join the meeting in a while.
