KATHMANDU: Addressing the seventh convention of the Society of Parliamentary Journalists in the capital on Saturday, Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Agni Sapkota committed to restoring debates and bringing the house to order.

On the occasion, he admitted that the HoR had not been working as per people’s expectations but admired the unity showcased by parliamentarians in recent times.

Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli dissolved the HoR on December 20, 2020. The Supreme Court ordered its reinstatement on February 23, 2021.

Recalling the period of HoR dissolution as tumultuous, Speaker Sapkota assured that the HoR is gradually coming back to life and he was working to make it people-oriented and lively with debates.
