US Ambassador Berry pays courtesy call on NCP leader Nepal

KATHMANDU: US ambassador to Nepal Randy Berry has paid a courtesy call on senior leader of ruling Nepal Communist Party Madhav Kumar Nepal at the latter’s residence in Koteshwor on Wednesday morning.

Issuing a Facebook message, Bishu Rijal, Deputy Chief of International Department and Central committee member at the NCP, informed about the meeting between Ambassador Berry and leader Nepal.

Ambassador’s Berry’s courtesy call on Nepal has been viewed meaningful at a time when the ruling NCP has been politically divided.

Prachanda-Nepal faction and opposition parties including Nepali Congress have been staging demonstrations against the dissolution of the House of Representatives.

President Bidya Bhandari dissolved the Lower House of the Parliament on the recommendation of the Prime Minister on December 20.
