NC leader Koirala condemns police intervention in conventions

KATHMANDU: Influential Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has condemned the police intervention in various districts during the conventions carried out as a preparation for the party’s ongoing general convention.

Criticizing the police intervention Dr. Koirala described the use of state force as a naked interference of the police administration in party’s democratic activities.

Writing on social media on Friday, he objected the use of force in Rolpa, Khotang, Rasuwa and Rupandehi.

“I condemn the current government for its extreme abuse of power, intimidation, oppression and arrest of election officials in the districts by the police,” Koirala said.
