Seven held in possession of brown sugar



JHAPA: Police have arrested seven persons from Bhadrapur of Jhapa district for their alleged involvement in the smuggling of banned drug brown sugar on Thursday evening.

The arrested ones are Narayan Rajbansi, 19, and Prakash Rajbansi, 22, of Bhadrapur-7 Telebhitta.

According to police, Rahul Thakur, 20, of Bhadrapur-6, Sonu Rajbansi, 21, of Bhadrapur-5, Sudip Shrestha, 18, of Birtamod-8, Pratap Yonjan, 31, of Birtamod-6 and Raj Shrestha, 28, of Arjundhara Municipality-1 have been arrested in possession of the banned drug.

Police have also recovered brown sugar, nitrogen tablet and a motorcycle from the gang. Police said that further investigations into the issue are initiated.
