Judges Society calls for speedy redressal of issues concerning leadership and judiciary



KATHMANDU: The Judges Society has called for resolving issues concerning judiciary and its leadership at the earliest.

Following the tussle between Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana and other judges of the Supreme Court (SC), no case has been heard in the Apex Court since two days and the pressure is mounting on CJ Rana to resign.

Issuing a statement on Tuesday, the Judges Society mad public its view on the recent controversy related to Supreme Court and Chief Justice. The society issued the statement following the demand from SC judges that CJ Rana should resign as he tarnished the image of the judiciary.

The society said that the issues raised regarding the leadership of the judiciary should be resolved soon or else it will cause further damage. The society is of the view that everyone should fulfill their legal, official and professional duties and responsibilities from their respective positions.

The society welcomed all the legal work done for internal reform of the court.
